A Way to help the earth
I have recently been inspired by the amount of Facebook posts on camino groups about the amount of rubbish on the Camino. We've decided to use this experience as a way to fundraise for The Ocean Cleanup.
The Ocean Clean Up is a not-for-profit environmental organisation in the Netherlands. They work to extract plastic pollution from the oceans and intercept it in rivers before it can reach the ocean. You can read further on their website - https://theoceancleanup.com/
As a cause very close to my heart, I would appreciate any donations you can make, big or small. We will be collecting donations through cash, PayPal or bank transfer and then send the total after we finish.
I have created a specific account to hold the donations raised. These account details are:
Account Name: Westpac Choice Student
BSB: 733-050
Account Number: 826052
You can also donate via PayPal through https://www.paypal.com/donate?campaign_id=KZPYW239TA9PL
Additionally to raising funds for The Ocean Clean Up, I will be collecting rubbish (whenever possible) along The Way in effort to clean up the camino.
I hope you can follow along on our journey on this blog, my instagram account @alicestew_walksthecamino and find any spare change to donate to the cause.
Thank you to Stan and Judy who have already donated - we really appreciate it.

Checking it daily for updates but there are none. Interested to see photos of how much rubbish you collect on your travels
